Meyer is the 'sequel' to his earlier work, A World Undone. That work is an exceptional history of the Great War and I recommend anyone considering The World Remade to read/listen to his other work first.5/5(1).

One of the latest books I just finished was a title called The World Remade: America in World War I by popular historian G.J. Meyer. I had previously read Meyer’s book, A World Undone: The Story of the Great War, to Meyer is not an academic historian, which is probably a benefit if you are looking for a more readable account of. The World Remade is the sequel to G. Meyer's excellent The World Undone, which was a high-level overview of WWI. This book focuses on the United States' involvement in the war. This book focuses on the United States' involvement in the war/5.

This book and its companion "A World Undone" are the signature works of WWI history books. Just a great book, with great info, and it keeps your attention with every chapter. The book alternates between chapters that cover a somewhat chronological trip through the U.S. lead-up and involvement in the war, with chapters covered to background info from the era/5(63).

The World Remade is an engrossing chronicle of America’s pivotal, still controversial intervention into World War I, encompassing the tumultuous politics and towering historical figures that defined the era and forged the future.

When it declared war, the United States was the youngest of the major powers and militarily the weakest by far. Meyer gives a good sense of America’s future at that negotiating table and Wilson’s celebrated role at Versailles as the leader of the free world.

The author also looks at America’s path in arriving at that fraught moment—manipulated by the propaganda effort of the British communications campaign, vilifying the Germans, and the struggle to raise conscription and maintain morale at : G.J. Meyer. The strength of The World Remade is Meyer’s exhaustive research, which gives us a thoughtful perspective on American’s involvement both domestically and internationally.

Meyer makes compelling arguments challenging America’s neutrality, the missed opportunities by the Wilson administration to prevent or shorten World War I, and the responsibility America bears for establishing the conditions that resulted in World War II.

Plague Land by Alex Scarrow is the first book in the young adult dystopian horror ReMade series. I think most could guess by the title alone with this one that the world is in trouble due to an unidentified plague.

The book mainly follows a boy named Leon, his sister Grace and their mother but there are other points of view at times in the story/5.

The Planet Remade explores the history, politics, and cutting-edge science of geoengineering. Read more Read less click to open popover Enter your mobile number or email address below and we'll send you a link to download the free Kindle App/5(41).
